Happy New Year!

2005 was a pretty good year - albeit with some snags. I look forward to 2006! I've already had some things change that needed to change and I think that's a good sign!

So, on with the 2005 wrap party: endings, changes and beginnings.

Things that ended in 2005:
- my resistance to all things comic, fantasy and otherwise requiring a hefty dose of imagination
- my hopes that my family may yet see the light and bring up my niece with an iota of sense, worth and overall hope of rising above her unfortunate family situation (her mother's side is, um, not so great)
- what I thought was a friendship, but turned out to be a chick affair
- my desire to associate with the Decatur Clique
- my having to take birth control, thanks to Nick's brave choice to get snipped

Things that changed in 2005:
- several friendships have morphed either to the more side or the less side
- I now support the Fair Tax proposal
- I've developed an obsession with my china pattern

Things that are beginning:
- my job with the Moon will be changing (yay!)
- I'm losing the weight this year. No more excuses, no more wine with dinner. Wah!
- I'm doing more art this year. I've got several projects laying around and I plan to try them out.
- I'm going to try try try to stop obsessing about my social life. The new people that we need to meet will come, I just have to be patient. Ha! Yah, that's an easy one!

2005 highlights:
DragonCon!
Charleston vacation
Decatur festival season
We threw lots of great parties (esp our anniversary party!)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Dani and Allen
We had a very nice Christmas dinner with Russ and Heather
We had an awesome New Year's Eve with Ben and Chopper Dave at Twain's (thanks, guys!) Also, the champagne was fabulous, Russ!

Out with the old and in with the new! Happy 2006 everyone!
